You, the player, are a curious investigator with a fascination for the unexplained. Drawn by the sinister legends surrounding Nightshade, you venture to its grounds one stormy evening, hoping to uncover the truth. You explore the overgrown gardens and crumbling exterior, feeling the weight of its history pressing on you.

Then, everything goes dark.

You awaken inside the asylum, the cold, damp air biting your skin. How did you get here? The last thing you remember was walking outside. The silence around you is unnerving, broken only by the faint creak of the building settling. You quickly realize there’s no way out—not yet.

As you navigate the decayed halls, the horrors of Nightshade begin to reveal themselves. Old journals, medical records, and blood-stained notes tell the story of Dr. Victor Ralston, a brilliant but obsessive scientist consumed by a single idea: defeating death.

Through his notes, you learn about Serum X, a formula designed to suppress the human fear of death while granting extraordinary physical resilience. But the serum had a horrifying cost—it stripped away sanity, turning its subjects into mindless, violent shells of their former selves. Believing himself immune to its side effects, Dr. Victor Ralston injected himself.

The result was catastrophic.

Dr. Victor Ralston became the very thing he sought to control—a monstrous, zombie-like being fueled by rage and madness. His creations turned against the asylum, plunging it into chaos. Patients and staff either succumbed to the serum or fell victim to its horrors, and Nightshade became a tomb of insanity.
